Ein Atelier auf der Richmodstraße: Auf einem weißen Tisch liegen kaffeetassengroße Schokoladen-Blöcke, der Boden ist mit Plane ausgelegt. Kleiderpuppen tragen festliche Roben. Wo sonst mit edlen Stoffen hantiert wird, arbeiten Kathrin Lohaus, Chocolatier, und Modedesignerin Perla Zayek nun schon seit einer guten Woche an einem eher ungewöhnlichen Outfit: Einem Schokoladenkleid.

Rock und Hut sind bereits fertig, einen Rucksack aus Jute hat Lohaus mit Schokolade besprüht, nun fehlen nur noch ein paar Details. Für die 28-Jährige, die in Düsseldorf ihre eigene Chocolaterie betreibt, war es eine Premiere. „Ich habe schon etliche Sonderanfertigungen aus Schoki gemacht“, erzählt Lohaus, „Tennisschläger oder einen Miniatur-Bauernhof. Ein Kleidungsstück hat noch niemand bestellt.“

Eine Herausforderung also – und zwar nicht nur für die Schoko-Fachfrau. Denn um die Schneiderarbeiten kümmert sich Perla Zayek. „Ich wusste anfangs nicht, was die von mir wollen“, verrät die Designerin. „Doch je länger ich an dem Kleid arbeite, desto euphorischer werde ich.“

Vom 14. bis zum 16. November werden die beiden ihr Werk im Rahmen der Messe „Salon du Chocolat“ auf mehreren Modeschauen präsentieren, bis dahin wird Lohaus zehn Kilogramm Modelierschokolade verarbeitet haben. Eine Mischung aus Schokolade und Glukose, die dafür sorgt, dass die Schokolade elastisch bleibt und nicht auseinanderbricht. Damit Rock und Hut in Form bleiben, hat die gebürtige Essenerin die Schokolade über ein Modell aus Kaninchengitter gezogen.

Das Risiko, dass das Kleid im hellen Scheinwerferlicht schmelze, bestehe nicht, sagt Lohaus. Es sei sogar bis zu zwei Jahre haltbar. Das Design packt Zayek in Worte: Schlicht, elegant und trotzdem verspielt. Zayek: „Wer meine Kleider kennt, wird meinen Stil wiederfinden“.

Der „Salon du Chocolat“ findet vom 14. bis zum 16. November in der Kölnmesse, Halle 9, statt. Tickets kosten zwischen 7 (6-12 Jahre) und 14 Euro für Erwachsene.
